Double Dutch

December 8th, 2008 by matu feliciano · No Comments

Category: Poem of the Day

I use to watch the girls Double Dutch
slam
They were strong and had rhythm
Long winded and amazing

Double Dutch girls were the ones that spoke up
Were challenging

Me, I played stickball
Something I could do
Run that I could do
I was picked first
I could hit and run

Double Dutch was for the girls that
Couldn’t leave the side walk
Supergirls of the South Bronx

Not me, I was a stickball kid
Ringaleveo
Kick the can
Johnny on the pony

Double Dutch, was a training ground for
Strong Sistah’s
Like the one’s I see today!
