The Meal of Divorce
August 13th, 2008 by Don As Tauno · No Comments
Don will be a featured poet on Tuesday, August 19,
during the Listen & Be Heard Radio Open Mic.
For Those Who Leave Marriage against Their Will
The sluggishness after dining on verbs seemed
To droop down from the weight of the moon.
The Cypress trees’ song cracked the path,
Which swayed under our divorcing footsteps.
The sea fidgeted, hissing a radio-like
2nd movement of Sibelius’ 5th Symphony
In which the waves’ white heat crashes
Into the silent beaches’ obscure wall of sand.
Blurred, a pianoforte sighs beyond the mist,
Like an aftertaste-mint to the orchestra
Of that loud meal, eaten late, hidden in
San Francisco’s fog at the House on the Cliff.
