Why do I feel so confused?
Upset, distraught and lost
Bewildered and misused
How did being your friend cost
Me, my pride and dignity
Why would you give me so much pain
Missing and neglecting my family
I can’t hold my head up and maintain
This fantasy you brewed in my head
Leaving me upset and hurt
Believing the things you said
I was focused and ready to work
You know, for this team
That you portrayed would benefit me too.
How can a man I love be so mean
I cherished and trusted you
With all my heart, body and mind
I felt you grabbing a hold of my soul
And I am glad that it was time
For me to see how ugly and cold
You could really be
Your true colors shined through
Never underestimate me
Because I won’t hurt you
From the struggle through I found my peace
I am not mad anymore
You showed me how much you love me
So I bottled it all up and tossed it out the door
