A Poem
July 28th, 2008 by bill vartnaw · No Comments
who am I
that my words will last
forever?
you, a unity, well-stretched
—a long breath, dream deep
& hard as bone, splashing capillaries
I make this up as I go—
trusting in an intelligence
of which I know little, but faith
wordy—where is the condensare?
this is an ounce of prevention,
a cosmetic effect reflecting
the times & my beliefs—
never the one
without the other
a wheelbarrow much talked about
holding yesterday’s rain (in writing)
—a hologram for today
