Stockhausen’s Cat
June 25th, 2008 by christopher barnes · No Comments
Prying? Who is crying
Up the coathanger tree
There. A frightened pussy
Lick a daisy! Hung up to dry.
Crotchety staccato,
Fuming magnificence
Did it so leopardly.
Meows blare
Smell-a-rat jealousies
Of well-composed mogs.
The heels of daddy’s music
Walked right through the ears,
Slime-furred.
Woe-oh-woe old declining Tabby
Pore-oozes furiously
The look of a pope,
Bedevilled. Peep.
If he duels
With that black-spotted upbeat
He must be all
Paws and claws.
From the hook of his back
Practising being a cat in sound
Hunting black notes
To keep zoo music down.
