Where are My Dreams?
by cyndi combs

Where are my dreams
that have abandoned my sleep
that danced like wind-swept ribbons
through my childhood?

Where are my dreams
the technicolor afterthoughts
of days long gone
the golden, dazzling tails
of shooting stars
that lifted me
onto a stupor of hope?

Where are my dreams
bright memories of you
in midnight fantasies
erotic moonlight visions
that taught my soul to fly?

My once free heart conceals from me
the dreamscapes where we danced
as if it knows the loss of you
brings dreaming to an end.
